Lest We Forget!

McCoy is the English form of the Irish (Gaelic) name Mac Aodha which means Child of Aodh. Aodlh means "Fire" in Gaelic and refers to the pre-christian pagan god of fire. Other forms of the name are McGee McKay McKee . Schaab is South German word used to refer to carpenters. Actually means a carpenter's ramp or a carpenter's plane-ing tool. Most Schaabs came to the USA in 1883. So far have found the following in Mt. Royal Cemetary: Anna A. Schaab 1886-1970 Anna Hader Schaab 1864 - 1916 Harry M. Schaab 1805 - 1976 Michael Schaab 1862 - 1933 Mark J. Benich was killed in action in WW2. He was a PFC. James A. McCoy was killed in WW2 but not in action. He was a CPL. Jerold H. McCoy died of his wounds in WW2. He was a PFC.

Mark J. Benich was my uncle (one of my father's younger brothers). He is not related to Mary Benich (born 1903) as far as I can determine.
